Funny little animation test
Late night in the studio, experimenting with some character animation out of Claytoon clay
Mini painting, Christmas present. Even the presents I give are experiments for this project. I was thinking of neurons and what connects them. Mix tape included: Patti Smith, Iggy Pop, Bombino, Olivia Tremor Control, Beat Connection, The Cramps, as well as the beautiful song I’ll Be Your Mirror by The Velvet Underground, amongst others.
Fantastic book, really freaking fantastic essays on perception how we see and what we look at. Introduced me to the work of Cajal a neuro-biologist. There is also a line I the book that says there is nothing more powerful and transfixing than the gaze of your lover, really poetic.
Still working on the optic nerve, professor reminded me “this needs to move Isaac” yes of course… of course. Still having too much fun.
Experimenting with painting the background blue… I don’t think it works
Don’t really know where this is going but it is a lot of fun, I think it’s the optic nerve
2 fantastic books that have inspired me in different ways, both are journeys. Huxley is in his own mind, the little prince is exploring the universe.
Before Milo entered his own head he was going to be isolated in a scary city, now the only scary thing is the mind, and we know how to fix that. Think good thoughts, love life and live with a sense of wonderment and mystery that surrounds us.
Giving everyone in Baltimore nightmares, glad to be apart of #ledbaltimore
Some early designs for Milo, who is this guy?
Much much fun in the studio today, here are splash tests. At the end I start to figure it out a little. Tests, tests and more tests to come.
I’m planning to have a nightmare. This is what I think the city looks like.
Here are a few more characters I’ve been designing, maybe thesis maybe fun? Well let’s see if I can make my thesis fun.
Here’s a villain for ya, made with tin foil, wire, and sculpey,
